When people think of the Titanic today, they are reminded of death, tragedy, loss, sadness and defeat. The 'Save the Titanic' community on the other hand, reflects differently upon the Titanic. Their hopes for the ship are first and foremost, that the Titanic not be historically commemorated as a cemetery or a graveyard. They write the letters to remind, "doing so, would memorialize and commemorate lost of hope, and sadly, the defeat of the American dreams aboard the Titanic".
The members of the 'Save the Titanic Foundation' supports the cause of the foundation as their single voice of a new generation that commemorates the Titanic as symbolic of hope, living the American dream, and making dreams come true.
The foundation members celebrates the spirit of the Titanic American dreams still embedded in the hearts and minds of the people of the world. Those dreams are reflected in our everyday efforts in trying to make our dreams come true; in the hopes of better lives for ourselves and for our families.
So Why Save the Titanic?
We are not a generation of modern day pirates who salvaged the Titanic for profit and exploitation, but never bothered protecting the ship from deterioration or creating an environment for maintaining the ship for future generations.
The foundation's missions for its Titanic explorations are pursued for the determination of key solutions that will not only save the Titanic from the symbolic perception of death, but also from contineous damage. Your support provides for the maintaining of the Titanic in a physically safe environment, whether beneath the ocean or surfaced from beneath the ocean. If it was ever determined that the ship be raised in order that it is saved, the foundation would have prepared the way for such a task.
The foundation's work is a cause for the restoration of hope, and the reminder of broken dreams that should never die. As immigrants or the children of past immigrants, we are working towards the American dream or living the American dream; and for that very reason, the American dreams aboard the Titanic should be historically memorialized and commemorated, as symbolize to that.
"SAVING THE TITANIC IS ABOUT THE AMERICAN DREAMS THAT PERISHED WITH THE SHIP THAT YOU AND I ARE LIVING TODAY"
"EVERYDAY AS WE RISE FROM OUR BEDS TO LIVE OUR AMERICAN DREAMS, WE RAISE THE TITANIC WITHIN OURSELVES"
"THERE ARE EVENTS IN LIFE THAT ARE COINCEDENTAL, BUT IT IS WHAT WE MAKE OF THOSE COINCEDENTAL MOMENTS THAT ONLY MATTERS"
